Description rabbitambulance 2005-11-18 11:18:05 UTC
When I try to update world, mplayerplug-in tries pulling in mozilla, which I
don't want (and hardly think is required).

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -uvDat world

Actual Results:
Portage tried pulling in mozilla as a dependency to mplayerplug-in:

[ebuild U ] net-www/mplayerplug-in-3.11 [2.85] -gecko-sdk 192 kB
[ebuild N ] www-client/mozilla-1.7.12-r2 +crypt -debug -gnome +ipv6 -java
-ldap -mozcalendar -mozdevelop -moznocompose -moznoirc -moznomail -moznoxft
-mozsvg -postgres +ssl +truetype -xinerama -xprint 30,307 kB

Expected Results:
Simply merge the new version of mplayerplug-in

You need either mozilla, or firefox.

Alternatively, with USE=gecko-sdk you can use net-libs/gecko-sdk.

Maybe I should have said that I already have firefox installed (which used to be
fine for older version of this plugin, but doesn't seem to be good enough for
the new one) and the ebuild just doesn't care.

Sorry, it's simply not mplayerplug-in that pulls in mozilla; it would emerge
mozilla first, because it's in DEPEND (i.e., needed for compilation, not
RDEPEND). Look at the ebuild.
