A few days ago after syncing I upgraded glibc from v. 2.3.5-r3 to 2.3.6. I did my toolchain thang (emerge linux-headers glibc binutils gcc && emerge glibc binutils gcc X 2) followed by emerge -ep world. Everything went smoothely, and I have had absolutely no problems whatsoever. A day later sys-libs/glibc-2.3.6 was masked with the -* keyword, so I'd like to report success, without any issues. I really don't want to rebuild the machine again (well for a while at least ;-). J.K. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.emerge =glibc-2.3.6 2.emerge the toolchain X 3 3.emerge -ep world Actual Results: A perfectly working system. Expected Results: Apparently I should have experienced problems. we move toolchain related packages into testing when we're ready to (meaning we have all the changes we want in it)
