Kommando is a "Neverwinter Nights" like wheelmenu for KDE. It allows rapid access to user defined applications and shell commands and is of course a nice toy to show off with ;-)

Created attachment 93563 [details] a wheelmenu for kde, ebuild New ebuild. Brings kommando up to version 0.4.1. Makes the fetch-url dynamic (just rename the ebuild for newer versions).
Created attachment 93564 [details] ebuild for using kommando integrated into kded From the dev (README.kded): So you want to try out the Kded Patch (thx to Sergio Cambra again) Thanks for doing so! You have to apply the patch with: patch -p0 < kded.patch in the directory that contains the kommando-0.4.0 folder. then just compile and install it normally. (if you run into problems during compilation, jut type make again, it compile cleanly now) To get the Kommando Deamon running, you have to restart kded: killall kded && kded Now you should be able to start Kommando through the usual shortcut. If you are using dcop to invoke the menu, then you need to adjust the dcop call into: dcop kded kommandod the_function_you_want_to_call You can access the configuration dialog through KMenu. If you like this feature or absolutely dislike it, please drop a word at www.kde-apps.org, for i am not sure which branch to develop further.
Created attachment 93567 [details] ebuild for using kommando integrated into kded - revised (correct way to patch *ducks*) Sorry... previous was a bad ebuild-style
Created attachment 102886 [details] Kommando 0.5.1 ebuild (version bump) I switched kde dependency to 3.5 because 3.4 is out of support now. Keyword changed to ~x86 because I have no possibilities to check it on ppc or amd64 - but I suppose that it will run. This app has 80% score on kde-apps so it sounds for me like it is good idea to put it into sunrise (at least). Hope someone will do it. Regards, KZ.

Created attachment 128839 [details] New version of Kommando 0.5.2 This is new Kommando version. It fetches and compiles normally.
(this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug) 'EBUILD' is in the KEYWORDS which should mean that there is a ebuild attached to this bug. This bug is assigned to maintainer-wanted which means that it is not in the main tree. Heuristics show that no Gentoo developer has commented on your ebuild. Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely manner. There are simply too many new packages. Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =) Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us. We anticipate a large number of requests in a short time. Thanks, On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team, Jeremy.
