Description Chris PeBenito (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-11-26 20:56:03 UTC
The install doc says that grub cant be installed in a chroot, if using hardware
raid. This is not totally true. It can be done, at least on dell percraid
controllers (driver: Adaptec AACRAID). The raid container (volume) just shows
up as a massive hd, with some partitions.

Unfortunately, I can't say for sure if this is the case for most/all scsi raid
controllers. I have a mylex (DAC960), but dont have any drives to test this on.

I couldn't get this to work. I just have a cheapie Adaptec ATA_RAID 1200A. Was
your controller a SCSI controller?
