A K6-2 system using gentoo-source 2.4.19-r9 stops after booting  
and "login:" does not appear ! 
Everything else works fine

do other kernels boot/login fine ? 
if not, i'm guessing its the PAM bug ...

Vanilla Sources worked fine

Just after all rc jobs are loaded ( metalog, start.local) the jobs are all 
okay, they are NOT the problem...

I don't see how this can be related to the kernel, unless there were absolutely NO other programs that were changed between the kernel switch from vanilla to gentoo...  lostlogic, I think this can be closed.  Reporter, are you still seeing this problem with the latest lolo-sources and is the newer vanilla-sources (2.4.20) still working fine?
