Hi, Not sure about this, but on an empty partition with no files, the setup in: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/security/security-handbook.xml?part=1&chap=5#doc_chap3 doesn't work. After tinkering with this for a while i found that a quotacheck on a partition that did not have files generated a 0 byte /home/aquota.{user,group} statistic file. With this 0 byte file it was not possible to use quotaon. After creating some files with dd the files where non-zero and quotaon/off worked. Could someone please verify this ? (I checked on two systems) ? And if so please add an entry about this in the handbook, I have not seen this problem described elsewhere... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
