Description Guillaume APOSTOLY 2002-11-26 06:42:34 UTC
Hi,

I can't remember since what version exactly, but it's no more possible to keep
on key down and see the effect repeated.
I explain myself : by exemple, before, holding down the right arrow made mplayer
fast forward, just as with a VCR.
Now, if i hold down the key, it just go up one frame, and i've got to repeat the
key to make it "manually fast forward".
I've got the same problem for all the shortcuts (sound, subtitles, moving into
the film, etc.).

I'm on a gentoo 1.4, with gcc 3.2, and my mplayer is 0.90pre10. But i think the
problem comes from before.

I'm ready to test any stuff if needed.

Regards,

Guillaume.

Have you checked on the mplayer lists ? Works fine here btw ...
In console, or X. USE flags ?

More precisions :

I'm running mplayer in console. I found out that usng -vo x11 works (i can fast
forward by holding the arrows down), but using -vo dga i've got the problem
described (only able to go frame by frame).
I'm using an nvidia GeForce4 Ti 4200 with nvidia-kernel-1.0.3123-r1 and
nvidia-glx-1.0.3123 on a Gentoo 1.4 with gcc3.2.
I didn't found anything about this problem on the net and I can't figure out
what is happening (and it worked, like 2 months ago ...).
Below is the output of mplayer.

mplayer -vo dga -ao oss /mnt/xp/g/videos/americ~1.avi

Well, rc2 is out. Still working here. What about trying to change keyboard
mappings ?
