Description Paul Varner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-12 20:20:36 UTC
gentoolkit-0.2.1 stable request bug.
Comment 1 Paul Varner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-12 20:40:30 UTC
gentoolkit-0.2.1_rc1 is in the tree and is ready to go stable. Since this
package is utilized by all architectures, I would prefer to mark all
architectures stable at the same time. Because of this, please note here when
you are happy with it. Once all of the architecture teams are satisified, I will
drop the rc? prefix and repackage it and mark stable.

If any new bugs crop up, please open new ones and mark them as
blocking this one.
Comment 2 Petteri Räty (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-13 02:47:35 UTC
I took a look at OPEN equery bugs and the list is quite long. I presume that the
issues are also in the current stable release? Most of these seem to be marked
as enhacements so I am not too worried. Is there a reason for bug 101377 to
still be open?
Comment 3 Paul Varner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-13 05:32:37 UTC
The reason that most of the bugs are still open is that I have found that as
soon as I close a bug concerning the stable version, someone will open a
duplicate. All bugs that have been fixed in unstable have keyword InCVS. Given
all of that, big 101377 is fixed.
Comment 4 nixnut (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-13 06:20:09 UTC
tested on ppc
works for me.
Comment 5 Michael Hanselmann (hansmi) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-14 13:39:32 UTC
ppc and hppa are fine.
Comment 6 Simon Stelling (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-14 13:55:59 UTC

Comment 7 Paul Varner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-21 10:23:47 UTC
I will release rc2 within the next couple of days to address the bugs listed as
dependencies.

Tried rc2 on a stable system. Compiled well and also seems to work well.

Comment 10 Andrej Kacian (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-12-05 23:03:18 UTC
Another x86++ for rc2 - works fine on a stable x86 box
Comment 11 Paul Varner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-12-07 10:30:50 UTC
I will be releasing rc3 shortly to resolve the latest bugs.
Comment 12 Petteri Räty (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-12-19 14:32:09 UTC
Maybe it's time to not try fixing all the bugs before going stable to get the fixes we already have to stable users?
Comment 13 Paul Varner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-12-19 21:00:57 UTC
This is the last round. I wouldn't have fixed the last one, except that it should have been fixed as part of bug 74569.
Comment 14 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2005-12-26 22:37:44 UTC
there is no app-portage/gentoolkit-0.2.1
Comment 15 Paul Varner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-12-29 09:45:38 UTC
gentoolkit-0.2.1 has been added to the tree
Comment 16 Alec Warner (RETIRED) archtester gentoo-dev Security 2006-01-05 15:24:24 UTC
the fix for 76568 is relatively simple, but has been dangling for a while now.
Comment 17 Paul Varner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-05 17:27:14 UTC
I'm not going to put that one in 0.2.1, otherwise it will be February before I will be able to get 0.2.1 stable.
Comment 18 Paul Varner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-17 15:50:07 UTC
Archs:

gentoolkit-0.2.1 has been in the tree as 0.2.1_rc4/0.2.1 since December 19 with no new bugs affecting stable systems. Please mark stable as appropriate.
