While trying to emerge cunit-2.0 I ran into the following problem config.status: creating Share/Makefile config.status: creating config.h config.status: config.h is unchanged config.status: executing depfiles commands cd . && \ automake-1.7 --gnu Makefile cd . && autoconf /bin/sh: line 1: automake-1.7: command not found make: *** [Makefile.in] Error 127 make: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs.... obviously autoconfing works fine in prefix. However, the package doesn't compile: make[4]: Entering directory `/Library/Gentoo/var/tmp/portage/dev-util/cunit-2.0/work/CUnit-2.0-1/CUnit/Sources/Curses' powerpc-apple-darwin8-gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../../.. -DRELEASE=@RELEASE@ -Wall -I/Library/Gentoo/var/tmp/portage/dev-util/cunit-2.0/work/CUnit-2.0-1/CUnit/Headers -MT Curses.o -MD -MP -MF .deps/Curses.Tpo -c -o Curses.o Curses.c In file included from /Library/Gentoo/var/tmp/portage/dev-util/cunit-2.0/work/CUnit-2.0-1/CUnit/Headers/CUnit.h:93, from /Library/Gentoo/var/tmp/portage/dev-util/cunit-2.0/work/CUnit-2.0-1/CUnit/Headers/curses.h:43, from Curses.c:55: /Library/Gentoo/var/tmp/portage/dev-util/cunit-2.0/work/CUnit-2.0-1/CUnit/Headers/TestRun.h:159: warning: type qualifiers ignored on function return type /Library/Gentoo/var/tmp/portage/dev-util/cunit-2.0/work/CUnit-2.0-1/CUnit/Headers/TestRun.h:160: warning: type qualifiers ignored on function return type Curses.c:93: error: syntax error before ‘WINDOW’ Curses.c:93: warning: no semicolon at end of struct or union Curses.c:94: warning: type defaults to ‘int’ in declaration of ‘pTitleWin’ Curses.c:94: warning: data definition has no type or storage class Curses.c:95: error: syntax error before ‘*’ token This is because of a case-insensitive filesystem problem on OSX, where curses.h equals Curses.h. I could hack around this by including ncurses.h instead of curses.h. Fixed in prefix.
