Description Tres 'RiverRat' Melton 2005-11-12 06:38:22 UTC
I have seen a few issues with wmdrawer interacting with enlightenment -16.7.2
and -16.8-CVS. It is a problem with wmdrawer and is definitely upstream but I'd
be willing to fix it if someone would be kind enough to explain how to do a few
things. These display errors appear when you are not on the first multiple
desktop. (Not virtual desktop.)

The Problems:
1. When the drawer slides out (or appears depending on your config) it is
supposed to do it from the icon's location. This works great on the first
multi-desk but on the second+ desk it appears in the top left corner.
2. It has, as its pseudo transparent background, a clip from the background of
the first multi-desk.
3. The tool tips don't work. I assume they appear on the first multi-desk just
fine. :(

What I would like to know:
1. What is the proper way to query X for the active WM? And sense E.
2. What is the proper way to query X for the background image of the active
desktop? Is it the root window in E?
3. Any other insight anyone has into these interactions.

vapier: I added you because you have lots of internal E knowledge and I was
hoping for some insight. (/me hopes alot :)

PS. Xchat has problems with E and setting it's pseudo-trans bg as does the
gnome-panel and a few others.

wmdrawer works fine for me, but not on E. It should be brought to attention of E devs. Please do so.
