Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Power-up the box. 2. GRUB screen is fine. 3. Loads usb etc drivers. 4. Stops at Starting udev: Determining root device root partition: !! I tried various swaps (read: combinations) of root, real_root with /dev/hda1, /dev/hdb1 and /dev/ram0. RESULT: Didnt work. ---------- 2. Merged the ~x86 of busybox, udev. Also recheked my .config and recompiled my kernel with all the possible things built-in, instead of modules ! Further I ran gpart /dev/hdb1 and the error is: Fatal error /dev/hdb1: seek error I dont know what that means. Bad hard-drive ? -Aivalli
