I'm using the ebuild for quite a while now -- and found no problems so far. A new version is out -- v1.8.6. The only thing I had to change (beside the renaming of the ebuild) was in line 20: ./configure 1\ ^ To use a predifined configureation in the configure-shell-script (_no_ GNU autoconf!).
Created attachment 19040 [details] An ebuild for plan-1.8.6.ebuild Here's a little more tidy ebuild for 1.8.6. I'm not sure I want to deal with this package myself due to the lesstif requirement but maybe it will be helpful for another dev. to get this package into portage. There's issues WRT the different components of this package that get installed. For example, I'm not sure if the language/ and web/ directories should get installed some place. Questions, questions...
This package needs quite a bit of work: - source code needs to be patched to fix errno problems - the configure script is redundant since in interactive mode it does not change the existing Makefile. - the Makefile tries to install things into really weird places (why must the binaries and language files go into a libs directory?) - CFLAGS are not used - netplan attempts to run with an incorrect UID and GID - the netplan data directory needs to be made r+w for user 'nobody' - holiday files would be better placed in a place that Plan can see them - WebPlan and misc files should ideally be installed Stay tuned for a rather significant workover of Plan-1.8.6
app-office/plan is now in cvs.
2 Problems I found trying the (new) ebuild a relatively fresh system: - a DEPEND is missing: "dev-util/yacc" is needed during the build. - some missing symbols are reported (related to db*-stuff); don't have that fresh system avail. at the momemt -- I'll try to have a closer look during next week.
Thomas, yacc shouldn't be needed since I made the plan Makefile use bison instead. Quite a few fixes were needed to get plan to play nice with Gentoo; if there are any I've missed then I welcome the bug reports. :)
Hmmm, maybe both problems I found are due to my own old ebuild in my PORTAGE_OVERLAY-directory. emerge seems to have a problem using the correct ebuild _even if a full-qualified path_ is given. Sorry for the false-alarm.
