Amara XML toolkit is an open-source collection of Python tools for XML processing, not just tools that happen to be written in Python, but tools built from the ground up to use Python idioms and take advantage of the many advantages of Python over other programming languages. Amara builds on 4Suite, but whereas 4Suite focuses more on literal implementation of XML standards in Python, Amara adds a much more Pythonic face to these capabilities. ebuild to be attached momentarily.

Created attachment 82589 [details] Amara-1.1.7.ebuild I would also like to see it in the portage tree. Attached is an ebuild for version 1.1.7 (development version) of Amara.
Created attachment 83163 [details] dev-python/amara-1.1.7.ebuild Attached ebuild fixes some problems with the above one: - fixes SRC_URI to point to working server - uses lowercase package name (and makes things work with it) - makes the package build even if some version of amara wasn't installed before
Created attachment 89843 [details] amara-1.1.7.ebuild Ebuild is now in the gentoo-sunrise overlay, available here: http://gentoo-sunrise.org/svn/sunrise/dev-python/amara
btw, i'm also tracking this in my overlay on overlays.gentoo.org. i do plan to commit this sometime, maybe once we make sure 4suite can work on python2.5.
I've just committed amara-1.2.0.2.ebuild to the main portage tree. Cheers!
