Some time ago I noticed then cdrecord stops working as normal user. As I still can burn CD's as root my normal user can't do that. cdrecord fails with a error message about fail to allocate SCSI buffer as I remember correctly this problem was introduced by one of the recent kernel, but I was sure it's solved already. Have I right ? It seems to be related to SUID bit on the cdrecord executable, when I remove it cdrecord starts to work normaly. But many burning programs suggest me to have this bit set. Currently I use kernel 2.6.14, can this be caused by it ? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

Try with 2.01-r3 (which is the latest stable version, those alphas are known to be badly broken. Reopen if it still fails for you w/ stable app-cdr/cdrtools. Thanks.
