Comment 1 Néstor Amigo Cairo 2005-11-05 12:54:52 UTC
When I try to work with any QT-based application using the locale
es_ES-UTF-8@euro spanish accents and spanish letter ñ don't work. That locale
didn't exist by default so I had to create it manually before compiling glibc.
I have to log in KDE using Gdm or use Gnome applications, which work well even
inside KDE.
Starting with Kdm, UTF doesn't work, so I think it must be an error with Kdm and
the locale settings.
Also, Qt based applications complain about X compatibility problems with my
locale when using Kdm to log in, which doesn't happen with Gdm.

I have configured locale as "es_ES-UTF-8@euro", and spanish keyboard layout with
102 keys in Xorg, Gnome and KDE.
Anyways, I think it must be a Kdm bug, since both Gnome and KDE loggig with Gdm
work perfectly.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start the computer
2. Log in KDE with Kdm
3. Type in any Qt based application
Actual Results:
Spanish accents don't work: á,ó,ú,í,ñ...

Expected Results:
They should work as I have set the proper locale and selected Spanish keyboard
layout both in KDE and Xorg.

My locales:

Ooold; if you still have problem w/ uptodate KDE/QT versions, then reopen.
