Description Martin Novak 2005-10-31 09:48:06 UTC
Hi, I cannot update world because I cannot emerge man-pages - this is probably
somthing broken because I really doubt that we want to emerge man-pages on OSX.

jablicko-3 root # emerge -pv world

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating world dependencies
!!! Problems have been detected with your world file
!!! Please run emaint --check world

!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "sys-apps/man-pages" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- sys-apps/man-pages-2.08 (masked by: missing keyword)
- sys-apps/man-pages-2.09 (masked by: missing keyword)
- sys-apps/man-pages-2.11 (masked by: ~ppc keyword)

For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
refer to the Gentoo Handbook.

!!! Problem resolving dependencies for sys-apps/man-pages
!!! Depgraph creation failed.

jablicko-3 root # emerge info
!!! Relying on the shell to locate gcc, this may break
!!! DISTCC, installing gcc-config and setting your current gcc
!!! profile will fix this

Have you tried running the above command?
Comment 2 Martin Novak 2005-10-31 10:00:36 UTC
Well, of course, sorry I haven't metioned it. I run it again now, there is result:

jablicko-3 root # emaint --check world
Checking world for problems

'app-misc/mc' has no ebuilds available

That's maybe problem - I have custom build midnight commander which is not for
macos-ppc in oficial branch. So it might be that.

this bug is now invalid.
Comment 4 Fabian Groffen gentoo-dev 2007-08-14 10:28:01 UTC
probably non-prefix age. Please use Prefix. bsd-man-pages are used on OSX there.
