As above. I'm currently writing an ebuild based off the spec file.
Depends on gstreamer-perl.
Created attachment 71792 [details] gmusicbrowser-0.940.ebuild media-sound/gmusicbrowser, I think.

New version 0.945 available, ebuild can be renamed to fetch source. However, it does not work on my ~x86 setup, als "gstreamer-perl" is not available. Any hints?

The same ebuild works for the new (0.946) version also, just rename to gmusicbrowser-0.946.ebuild.
Also working with 0.947! (with renaming) cya
I am new to gentoo linux. But I would like to help build or test gmusicbrowser. I think it looks great. I tried to build the ebuild with the 0.947 version. It seemed to work, but I got stuck with a masked package that was called gtk2-trayicon. I could not unmask it. I don't know if this is a good place to post this comment. I hope this helps or someone can help me.

Created attachment 82396 [details] gmusicbrowser-0.949.ebuild gmusicbrowser-0.949: added "mozilla" USE flag for perl-mozembed based plugins.
I accomplished to emerge the latest ebuild (owser-0.949.ebuild) under the ppc erchitecture without any installation problems. I think this ebuild deserves a ~ppc flag. I however encountered the following error when trying to change the look to anything else than it comes with (in the Misc. section which is in the Preference Menue): *** unhandled exception in callback: *** Can't locate object method "get_active_text" via package "Gtk2::ComboBox" at /usr/bin/gmusicbrowser line 3783. *** ignoring at /usr/bin/gmusicbrowser line 515. Does anyone have any suggestions? Help would greatly be appreciated. Thank you.
(In reply to comment #16) gtk_combo_box_get_active_text was added in gtk+ 2.6, so someone needs to add a dependence on gtk+ 2.6 in the ebuild file (the deb and rpm requires it too), I don't know how to do it. And update the version to 0.951 too.
Created attachment 84565 [details] gmusicbrowser-0.951.ebuild Added ~ppc keyword. Merko, which versions of gtk+ and gtk2-perl do you have?
In order to install gmusicbrowser, you will also have to install a few dependencies. If you are using gstreamer instead of mpg321, vorbis-tools, etc.: emerge gstreamer gst-plugins-base gst-plugins-good gst-plugins-bad gst-plugins-ugly You will also need the following with or without gstreamer. emerge gtk2-perl gtk2-trayicon You can also set useflags for this ebuild in /etc/portage/package.use to add or disable support for gstreamer and mozembed. (add the following line) media-sound/gmusicbrowser mozilla gstreamer Download these other dependency ebuilds. Install both of these by using this howto: http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Installing_3rd_Party_Ebuilds gstreamer-perl http://catmur.co.uk/cgi-bin/viewcvs/viewcvs.cgi/svn/gentoo/tree/dev-perl/gstreamer-perl/ gtk2-mozembed http://catmur.co.uk/cgi-bin/viewcvs/viewcvs.cgi/svn/gentoo/tree/dev-perl/gtk2-mozembed/?rev=202 and finally, download the gmusicbrowser ebuild, and use the above howto to install it.
at this time updates avail gtk2-mozembed-0.06 gstreamer-perl-0.09 gmusicbrowser-0.955 just rename ebuilds - all works also I tested on amd64 - it works for me
Created attachment 102385 [details] gmusicbrowser-0.955.ebuild update DEPEND - use dev-perl/GStreamer - it appear in portage also available dev. version 0.9559 - try it - it works fine ;)

Created attachment 124637 [details] gmusicbrowser-0.960.ebuild Latest stable version : 0.960 (released on 11-10-2007) Update RDEPEND - add mplayer depend and other small depend fixes
gmusicbrowser-0.960.ebuild has a typo: ln 33 > mozilla? ( dev-perl/Gtk2-MozEmbed )has no caps.
(In reply to comment #24) > gmusicbrowser-0.960.ebuild has a typo: > > ln 33 > mozilla? ( dev-perl/Gtk2-MozEmbed )has no caps. > yes You are right this ebuild renamed some time ago

Setting USE=visual dodgy visual? ( dev-perl/GStreamer-Interfaces ) there are no ebuilds to satisfy "gstreamer-interfaces".
