I posted the details of the error I got when emerging alsa-driver in the forums (see link above.) Basically, when I tried to emerge alsa-driver for the 2.6.14 kernel, it would fail when compiling the usb-audio driver. This did not happen in the previous version of the kernel. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.emerge alsa-driver for the 2.6.14 ck-sources 2. 3. Actual Results: The emerge died (see the post in the forums for the whole output.) Expected Results: The usb-audio drivers should have compiled.
Posting the error messages here; please don't link outside of bugzilla, it makes searching for duplicates impossible. --- CC [M] /var/tmp/portage/alsa-driver-1.0.9b/work/alsa-driver-1.0.9b/usb/usbaudio.o /var/tmp/portage/alsa-driver-1.0.9b/work/alsa-driver-1.0.9b/usb/usbaudio.c: In function `deactivate_urbs': /var/tmp/portage/alsa-driver-1.0.9b/work/alsa-driver-1.0.9b/usb/usbaudio.c:713: error: `URB_ASYNC_UNLINK' undeclared (first use in this function) /var/tmp/portage/alsa-driver-1.0.9b/work/alsa-driver-1.0.9b/usb/usbaudio.c:713: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once /var/tmp/portage/alsa-driver-1.0.9b/work/alsa-driver-1.0.9b/usb/usbaudio.c:713: error: for each function it appears in.) make[4]: *** [/var/tmp/portage/alsa-driver-1.0.9b/work/alsa-driver-1.0.9b/usb/usbaudio.o] Error 1 make[3]: *** [/var/tmp/portage/alsa-driver-1.0.9b/work/alsa-driver-1.0.9b/usb] Error 2 make[2]: *** [_module_/var/tmp/portage/alsa-driver-1.0.9b/work/alsa-driver-1.0.9b] Error 2 make[1]: *** [modules] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.14-ck1' make: *** [compile] Error 2 !!! Same problem here. For the record, usb-audio in ALSA 1.0.10_rc2 compiles fine with kernel 2.6.14.
Unmasked 1.0.10_rc2. This also fixes some problems with Audigy 2 ZS cards. FWIW kernel 2.6.14 ships with 1.0.10_rc1
