Using the newest (not ~x86) version of wine, the execution of winecfg freezes X and the kernel. If run from a pseudo-term in X, X graphically freezes and does not respond to the mouse or keyboard. If run from a tty instead of pseudo-term, the screen blanks and I am unable to make it do anything. I have tried the three-finger-salute, and even that does not work. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge wine 2. exec winecfg Actual Results: X freezes or my tty blanks and freezes. Expected Results: It should have opened a window for the configuration of WINE, or automatically generated some base config files. so try with a less bleeding kernel be more specific about the version of wine
Sorry about that, I'll try a less bleeding kernel, you're right. Also, my version of wine: wine-20050725-r1 I'll see if I can post some more info, but wine --version locks on me. I'll reply with a more stable kernel in a bit, though I'm confined to mm due to reiser4.
