Description Tim Heinrich 2005-10-29 09:11:42 UTC
Hi!
Each time I try to emerge mono-1.1.9.1 or 1.1.9.2 the system freezes completely
during compilation. Any ideas or thoughts about it?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. type 'emerge mono'
2. wait a little bit

Actual Results:
system freezes completely

Expected Results:
mono gets compiled and installed

Comment 1 Peter Johanson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-10-29 11:33:18 UTC
There's really nothing about compiling mono other than maybe heating the system
up a bit that could be directly responsable for a system hang. I suggest you:

1) Run memtest86 to make sure your don't have duff RAM.
2) Remove some of those CFLAGS (though i've seen far worse)
3) Check to make sure you don't have heat issues.
Comment 2 Tim Heinrich 2005-10-30 06:06:52 UTC
Made a kernel update today and tried to emerge mono again, without problems.
Tried to reemerge with the old kernel and got the hang again. So the problem was
the kernel.
