Description Oliver Schwabedissen 2005-10-29 06:51:56 UTC
On my system I compiled KDE 3.4.1 (split ebuilds) without Arts. When I try to
emerge kde-misc/kbrain-0.1.3 it stops with an error while configuring:

Please check whether you installed KDE correctly.

!!! ERROR: kde-misc/kbrain-0.1.3 failed.
!!! Function kde_src_compile, Line 156, Exitcode 1
!!! died running ./configure, kde_src_compile:configure
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message.

mcopidl is part of arts-3.4.1-r2. kbrain is a mind-mapping tool and shouldn't
require arts to work.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -aquv kbrain
2.
3.

Actual Results:
configure stops with:

checking for mcopidl... not found
configure: error: The important program mcopidl was not found!

Expected Results:
kbrain shouldn't require arts to be installed. It compiles fine on a system
running KDE 3.4.1 with arts

Comment 1 Marcus D. Hanwell (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-12-07 15:36:26 UTC
I created a patch for this, but it fails to compile here. Anyone else getting
compilation failure with GCC 3.4? I can attach the patch and it does work, but
I don't have a system with GCC 3.3 on it anymore and upstream looks dead (last
release 2002).
Comment 2 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-03 05:41:24 UTC
brain has been removed from portage.
