I recently got an amd opteron system and most of the software has worked pretty good, but I did notice the lack of arts support in mplayer-bin, right now I'm using a 32bit chroot system to be able to run mplayer with 32bits codecs and arts support but with the amount of workarounds that gives...... its not really a good solution. So I'm wondering if its possible to include arts support? lol, that might be true but arts works good enough for me ;) I'll might consider changing to another system too but for now, that would just make things more complicated.
adding arts support to mplayer-bin would require adding a 32bit build of arts to the emul packages afaik
Also mplayer gui in combination with (current versions of) arts crashes (works with CVS when you use gtk2 though).
