Description Heikki Repo 2005-10-28 23:33:09 UTC
There's a new cinelerra-cvs version with important bug fixes concerning key
frames. In the newest portage version keyframes don't get saved with the project
and using "undo" deletes all keyframes from the project. Please add the new
version to portage.

Reproducible: Always

Hmmm?

cinelerra-cvs-20051005 (05 Oct 2005)

  06 Oct 2005; Marc Hildebrand <zypher@gentoo.org> cinelerra-cvs-20051005.ebuild:
  Version bump. This introduces Cinelerra version 2.0. Removed ppc keyword.
Comment 2 Heikki Repo 2005-11-07 08:03:23 UTC
The bug was resolved on 7 oct 2005 in the cinelerra-cvs, while this version is
two days older and doesn't have the fix.

Kindly specify the exact snapshot version you are requesting and post a URL for
that version. Does not make sense.

November  5, 2005 <====

* Welcome back :) a lot of new thigs are happened in the last two months:
- new version of cinelerra
- we moved from cvs to svn
- new packages of cinelerra-cv 2.0 (slackware and Debian/sid)
</snip>

Cannot see really which version are you referring to.

Just come across this bug as well which seems to be very serious.

I'm not impressed with the outcome. "Kindly specify the exact snapshot version you are requesting" was the response, well surely any version after 7th October would fix this bug?

Looking at the Changelog for cinelerra-cvs, it seems that new snapshots of this package come out of thin air with no apparent explanation as to why they are chosen or bumped. Whoever plucks these snapshots should be informed about this, so they can select a recent "good" cvs snapshot to bring into Portage (and hence get this bug fixed).

I notice it tends to be every two or three months that a snapshot is made, and October was about three months ago...

I took some time to browse the svn and found the file "autos.C" updated on 7th October which I've tested, and it fixes this bug.

Since its only two days after the last cvs snapshot, I think a patch on this file would be better than digging up a new entire cvs snapshot.
