Hi Daniel! As the complete list of packages has been removed from our web-site some other web sites that used it to keep their information about gentoo up2date are running into problems (mainly www.distrowatch.com). I contaced ladislav@distrowatch.com about this and pointed out a possible solution to him. The script that generates our package index for the web (in dyn/...) gentoo-src/gentoo-xml/scripts/pkgs.py is run by crond and pipes out a complete package-list (including versions) at runtime. I posted Ladislav a snippet of the list and he told me that this would be fine. The solution to the problem is changing crontab to pipe the list into a file (pkgs.py > all-packages.txt) and make that file available on the web, so Ladislav can use it. Greetings Michael
Hi Daniel! are you working on this one?
I've got an x86 list going via crontab you can use. Until we get something else running. It isn't up-to-the-minute, but generally will be updated at least every other day. Normally two or three times a day. http://gentoo.twobit.net/misc/pkg_list_x86.txt The generating script is at: http://gentoo.twobit.net/scripts/pkg_list.py
http://gentoo.twobit.net/scripts/pkglist.py
http://www.gentoo.org/dyn/pkgs/packages.txt ^^^ package list is here....
Ok, i mailed the link to ladislav.
