Description Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason 2005-10-26 22:18:48 UTC
(note: This is not related to bug 109660)

ffmpeg2theora-0.15 fails to build due to it lacking the ffmpeg source tree

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. ACCEPT_KEYWORDS=~ppc emerge ffmpeg2theora

Actual Results:
[...]
checking for FFMPEG... checking for FFMPEG... configure: error:

could not find ffmpeg. please update PKG_CONFIG_PATH to point to ffmpegs source
folder or run ./get_ffmpeg_cvs.sh (for more information see INSTALL)

Expected Results:
It should have compiled, the problem is that the ebuild needs to fetch a package
from CVS, doing it manually like so works:

1. svn co http://svn.xiph.org/trunk/ffmpeg2theora
2. sh autogen.sh
[...]
could not find ffmpeg. please update PKG_CONFIG_PATH to point to ffmpegs source
folder or run ./get_ffmpeg_cvs.sh (for more information see INSTALL)
3. ./get_ffmpeg_cvs.sh
4. ./configure
5. make

Doing this will produce a fully working ffmpeg2theora binary

$ file ./ffmpeg2theora
./ffmpeg2theora: ELF 32-bit MSB executable, PowerPC or cisco 4500, version 1
(SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.4.1, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), not stripped

Hanno, you bumped the ebuild, can you take a look?
Comment 2 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-12-08 05:00:19 UTC
Reopen if it's still an issue.

REOPENING, nothing has changed in the ebuild so the issue remains.

I've bumped the dependency on ffmpeg, as probably the old september snapshot didn't work correctly with pkg-config.

Please post your emerge info if it's still an issue.

REOPENING, bumping from media-video/ffmpeg-0.4.9_pre20050906 to media-video/ffmpeg-0.4.9_pre20051120 didn't help.

Can you attach the config.log? I can't reproduce this.

Need the log.
