Hi, I don't know where to post this, but I think at this place the right people are reading this. I think there is strong need for a system to get ebuilds from unstable to stable. Since most new ebuilds now are marked as unstable (~ in keywords), I've got more and more (imho stable) ebuilds where I have to remove the ~. This isn't really a problem with commomly used ebuilds like gcc and kde, but seldom used ebuilds like mtx or rdesktop are problem-candidates. I have the following solution in my mind: Build a database where all unstable ebuilds are listed. Then offer a webpage where registered users (e.g. you could use the bugzilla user base) could mark an unstable ebuild as 'works for me under platform xy'. Then there could be an automated algo who marks ebuilds as stable, depending on how many users has marked that ebuild as working. The count should be dynamically, e.g. 5 marks for rare used ebuilds, but 20 marks for ebuilds like gcc or kde. What do you think? Regards, Alexander
