It seems that cpan perl modules are going through portage rather than g-cpan. Here's a module for installing Lingua-EN-Squeeze. Note this ebuild cannot be emerged yet. That's because it requires a current version of the perl module ExtUtils-MakeMaker, but portage doesn't have it. That's been reported separately at http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=110472 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created attachment 71448 [details] ebuild for perl-module Lingua-EN-Squeeze ebuild for perl-module Lingua-EN-Squeeze. Awaiting a bug fix to 110472 before it can be emerged (and added to the tree).
Please, review the following link and explain why is this ebuild needed in portage. http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/devrel/handbook/handbook.xml?part=3&chap=1#doc_chap2
There is a simple, but excellent little program for generating passwords called easypass It is located at http://iatrogenic.cx/easypass.html. It deserves to be in portage :) It won't run without this perl module: thewarehouse1 ~ # ./easypass.pl Can't locate Lingua/EN/Squeeze.pm in @INC I suppose my next step it to make ebuild for it, but, of course, it won't emerge because this perl module is not installed directly via portage.
I posted an ebuild for that easypass program I mentioned, http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=110477 If bug 110472 is fixed, and if this module is accepted, then that program can be accepted and gentoo will have a neat little password generator :)
OK, reopened.
Created attachment 71537 [details] proposed ebuild for perl module Lingua-EN-Squeeze I corrected the description and license information in the ebuild.
The package request that required this no longer exists.
