As already crosschecked with GNU texinfo developer Karl Berry, who answered me on the bugs-texinfo@gnu.org list there is a bug in texinfos install-info program, which is automatically used by emerge when updating the info directory. Menu and Node tags of texinfo MUST NOT be translated, since no info reader will understand such an info node (no but pinfo). It is a general inconsistency which is easily solved by a small patch of utils/install-info.c in texinfo sources. I can sent you the patch Karl Berry sent to me AND/OR an updated texinfo-4.3.ebuild that will apply that patch.
