Since the last update thunderbird crashes everytime I want to look in my Spam folder. It's an IMAP Folder. Perhaps there is a corrupt mail, but kmail has no problems opening the folder. On the console i get following: $ thunderbird No running windows found (thunderbird-bin:11227): Gdk-WARNING **: gdk_property_get(): length value has wrapped in calculation (did you pass G_MAXLONG?) /usr/libexec/mozilla-launcher: line 116: 11227 Segmentation fault "$mozbin" "$@" thunderbird-bin exited with non-zero status (139) $ Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.start thinderbird 2.go to my SPAM folder 3. Actual Results: a segmentation fault and thunderbird crashes Expected Results: show me my spam-mails # emerge --info Portage 2.0.51.22-r3 (default-linux/x86/2005.0, gcc-3.3.6, glibc-2.3.5-r2, 2.6.13-suspend2-r5 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.13-suspend2-r5 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.60GHz Gentoo Base System version 1.6.13 distcc 2.18.3 i686-pc-linux-gnu (protocols 1 and 2) (default port 3632) [disabled] ccache version 2.3 [enabled] dev-lang/python: 2.3.5-r2, 2.4.2 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.12 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r6 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r1 sys-devel/binutils: 2.15.92.0.2-r10 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.20 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O3 -march=pentium3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/env /usr/kde/3.4/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/ /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O3 -march=pentium3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig ccache distlocks sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://pandemonium.tiscali.de/pub/gentoo/ ftp://pandemonium.tiscali.de/pub/gentoo/ http://gd.tuwien.ac.at/opsys/linux/gentoo/ ftp://gd.tuwien.ac.at/opsys/linux/gentoo/" LINGUAS="en de" MAKEOPTS="-j5" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.de.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 X a52 acpi alsa apm arts avi berkdb bitmap-fonts bonobo cdparanoia cdr crypt cups curl directfb dv dvd dvdr dvdread eds emboss encode esd fam fame fbcon foomaticdb fortran gd gdbm gif gnome gphoto2 gpm gstreamer gtk gtk2 gtkhtml guile imagemagick imlib ipv6 jack java jpeg junit kde libg++ libwww lm_sensors mad maildir mbox mikmod mmx motif mozilla mp3 mpeg ncurses nls nsplugin ogg oggvorbis opengl oss pam pdflib perl php png python qt quicktime readline real samba sdl snmp speex spell sse ssl subtitles subversion tcpd tetex tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts udev unicode vorbis xine xml xml2 xmms xv xvid xvmc zlib linguas_en linguas_de userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, PORTDIR_OVERLAY
Please try moving $HOME/.thunderbird out of the way (back it up) and create a new profile and test please ... most likely a change in the xml parsing of the config causing such a problem.
(In reply to comment #1) that worked. How can I find out which file is responsible for the error?
it is in your .thunderbird you moved out of way go threw you should find a dir called Junk.msf you can remove it that is only way I know you can verify it or you can search around.
(In reply to comment #3) yes you were right. I just deleted it and after that thunderbird fetched all headers and everything is working again. Thanks
As this is nothing more then a corrupted file closing.
