Description Brenden Matthews 2005-10-24 21:16:22 UTC
I changed a couple of things, like renaming afs-* initscripts and conf.d to
openafs-* for consistency. For the most part, it's just a version bump though.
 Working fine on my amd64 machine. Keep up the great work with the OpenAFS stuff.

Changing afs-* to openafs-* had already been done on my local copy, but I'm
currently inactive (and have been for a couple of weeks) because of being
abroad. (Network connection here is horrible). I'll try to check this within
the next week...

Is there a special reason you want 1.4.1-rc1, or is 1.4.0-rc8 also ok for you?
1.4.0-rc8 seems to be the stable release candidate, whereas 1.4.1-rc1 seems to
be some kind of new development (not fully tested features are added in there).
 Furthermore, 1.4.1-rc1 server doesn't work on my system.

1.4.1-rc1 seemed to work okay for me, however 1.4.0-rc8 might be a better stable
candidate.

Found this in the announcement of openafs-1.4.1_rc1:
<quote>
The 1.4.1 release candidates are being issued prior to the announcement
of 1.4.0 (final) in order to accelerate the testing process for two
major enhancements that were not ready in time for 1.4.0.
</quote>

As such, I'd rather leave 1.4.1* be until 1.4.0 is stable.

Your suggestions have been incorporated in the 1.4.0_rc8 ebuild. Marking as fixed.

Thanks for the feedback!! (Working fine on my amd64 machine as well now, and I
like it ;)
