Automake 1.7.1 has been out for a while now, but is not in Gentoo yet.
Can you pass this on to someone more ebuild friendly? Thanks
Dont see why it should be packaged if something do not need it yet. Unfortunately automake is not one of those stuff that keep backward compadibility in mind.
actually, I had a need of automake 1.7(.1) for installing a bison out of CVS (current bison breaks the parser of our programming language). So I extended the automake ebuild in just the same style as was used so far to accommodate multiple versions. I'll supply my extended ebuilds as an attachment.
