using 2005.1 ppc GRP install packages, KDE 3.4.1. Only GRP packages used. iBook 500 g3 freezes on wake from sleep, hangs after eth2 is activated/woken, but apparently before drive activity begins. This behaviour appears to be specific to KDE, as fluxbox is not affected (sleep and wake work as expected). Same problem appears on various 2.6.12 and 2.6.13 kernels, and also appears while running KDE on kubunto 5.1, fwiw. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.login 2.startkde 3.sleep, then wake Actual Results: freeze at black sreen, no X has rebuilt yet, just console type indicating eth2 is up Expected Results: woken up to kde desktop
If it happens under Ubuntu too, it's not a Gentoo problem. Report it on bugs.kde.org. First, though, please try a newer KDE version (even if you don't switch to using it permanently): either 3.4.3 (in ~arch), or 3.5.0_beta2 (package.masked, but quite stable, and installs in a new SLOT, so won't disturb your 3.4.1). And of course make sure you're using the newest packages outside KDE as well.
