Description Martin Baranski 2005-10-22 18:05:57 UTC
Just do an emerge with "emerge xvidtune" and it will tell you that the package
can't be merged.
Yes, I've edited the package.keywords- and package.unmask-files.

package.keywords looks like this:

x11-apps/xvidtune -* ~amd64

and package.unmask is filled with:

x11-apps/xvidtune

But it doesn't work!
Also using the unmask-function of Kuroo didn't work. - It just keeps telling me
"masked by: missing keyword".. :(

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a console window like xterm
2. Type in: emerge xvidtune
3a. Edit package.keywords and package.unmask by adding "x11-apps/xvidtune"
(without the "")

OR

3b. Click the "Unmask"-button inside Kuroo.
Actual Results:
The "xvidtune"-package can't be merged.

Expected Results:
Emerge should recognize the changes and merge the package correctly.

Comment 1 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-10-22 18:36:20 UTC
Please, read 'man ekeyword' and 'man ebuild' before filing pointless bugs.

"x11-apps/xvidtune -* ~amd64" in package.keywords can't work because
x11-apps/xvidtune has none of them.
Comment 2 Martin Baranski 2005-10-23 04:13:57 UTC
I'm sorry, but IMHO it's not senseless, because at forums.gentoo.org I've read
that "-* ~amd64" would help.

If that's false, I'm very sorry for the trouble I've made..

Anyway, I'd like to know how to get this fixed, so that I can install xvidtune.
