Hi, The emergeable version of ipw2100 fails with this kernel so am using the ieee80211 and ipw2100 provided by the kernel (both compiled as modules). With udev-058 the firmware loads on boot up and the wireless interface works but dmesg is flooded with the following error: eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! The exact kernel I am using is 2.6.14-rc3-nitro1 This is my kernel config: # CONFIG_BT_HCIVHCI is not set CONFIG_IEEE80211=m # CONFIG_IEEE80211_DEBUG is not set CONFIG_IEEE80211_CRYPT_WEP=m CONFIG_IEEE80211_CRYPT_CCMP=m CONFIG_IEEE80211_CRYPT_TKIP=m CONFIG_IPW2100=m # CONFIG_IPW2100_MONITOR is not set # CONFIG_IPW_DEBUG is not set # CONFIG_IPW2200 is not set # CONFIG_AIRO is not set # CONFIG_HERMES is not set # CONFIG_ATMEL is not set Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install mentioned kernel with IEEE80211 and IPW2100 config 2. Run iwconfig and lsmod to checl ipw2100 and IEEE80211 have loaded correclty and interface is recognised. 3. Run dmesg and weep Actual Results: # dmesg eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! eth2 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver ! This was fixed by upstream, but since you're running an unsupported kernel...
