I have LVM2 running so I could have made my /var/tmp/portage partition bigger if emerge had told me how much space I need in the beginning of the emerge.
On a similar note the ebuild could tell where the final files end up so the user can prepare for that too. I have not gotten that far but hopefully my /opt/ut2004 is right.
It's copying from either a DVD or 6 CD. How much space were you thinking it would take up? At any rate, I've Added information in CVS now.
