Description Fredric Johansson 2005-10-18 09:13:24 UTC
I installed the ati-drivers-8.18.6 and first my computer didnt start correctly.
it went black when starting xdm and xorg-x11, chrooted and went through
fglrxconfig. then everything went fine on next boot except that my maximum
refresh rate was 1024x768 instead of my usual 1280x1024

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge ati-drivers-8.18.6
2.restart xorg-x11 with new driver
3.

Expected Results:
Desktop with resolution 1280x1024

Emerge info:

Any idea Matthew?
Comment 2 Luca Barbato gentoo-dev 2005-10-19 07:45:03 UTC
Reproduced locally after a reboot. Is maybe related to the usage of analog cable?
Comment 3 Fredric Johansson 2005-10-19 08:06:18 UTC
how can the cable make any difference if you update the driver?
Or have they removed the option to have that resolution on the analog output?
If I remember right I had the same/similar problem with 8.16* driver (currently
using 8.14*
