The developer of the famous aircrack has one good tool, aireplay that can be used to assess security of the wireless networks. This requires patching of the current driver. The patch is included in the http://www.cr0.net:8040/code/network/aircrack-2.3.tgz distribution. Please get this patch accepted by upstream, and it will automatically be available in Gentoo Portage when a new version is released.
