err, don't you mean ">=dev-lang/python-2.4"? If it's "<dev-lang/python-2.4", then what's the point?
as mentioned in comment #2: please ignore comment #1. I posted the attachment in the wrong bug. This bug is only about a revision bump of freevo to the new 1.5.4, which works on all versions of python. No change to the ebuild required.
Is there anything blocking such a version bump? 1.5.4 has been out for months. :) I bumped the version in my portage overlay and all went well.
No Gentoo developer uses this or has interest in using this app. Re-assigning to maintainer-needed.
Created attachment 75914 [details] freevo-1.5.4.ebuild New ebuild. Added dependancy by twisted-web as it's required (at least for ~x86 version). Still freevo.conf need to be changed after emerging (at least in Italy).
When is this getting added to portage?
refer to comment #6, in addition notice who it's assigned to.
There would be a little trick to make developers bump new version: fix ebuild for modular X dependancies. The "only" little issue is that being all in python, developers script to detect dependancies aren't working (at least here),need to ask developers which X submodules are required to run freevo.
Yup, this needs to be modular X friendly to be bumped.
Bumped in cvs. Since freevo is entirely written in python, I am assuming its dependencies will pull in the necessary modular X components (this, I killed the virtual/x11 dep). Cheers
Marcelo, I'm assuming you're taking over maintaining this package then.
