When I add the volume control to a GNOME panel it appears not to add it. On closer inspection it has been added it but there is no icon and the 'clickable' area of the item is about one pixel wide (and invisible) - this is on GNOME 2.12.1 - I appreciate this is hardmasked but thought it maybe helpful to point this out anyway. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. right click panel 2. select add to panel 3. select volume control from the dialog 4. click the add button Actual Results: as described in details, in short a one pixel wide invisible icon is added to the panel that operates as the only speaker icon did abeit hard to find. Expected Results: An icon to appear with when select pops up the speaker volume control
after I updated to gnome-light-2.12 I saw the same effect. but switching to another icons-theme (gnome-default) brought the icon back.
@reporter: what icon-theme are/were you using?
