probably you need to specify libs for linking direct

This is probably a problem with GCC4, so until you can find a patch for this, 
I'm simply going to close this as WONTFIX. 
 
[GCC4 is hardmasked, experimental, not supported, if you provide patch I would 
merge, but I won't start looking at this from scratch]
