Description JR Boyens 2002-03-12 10:48:20 UTC
The manpage for su contains a antecdote/rant from Richard M. Stallman
of GNU fame which states that the GNU version of su will never support
the wheel group. Unfortunately the only way to be able to su to root is
if you are in the wheel group. :) This could just be a info file mixup.

I'm tempted to leave this in for humor value :)

I was just letting the Gentoo Team know about the bug.
I thought it was pretty funny myself. :)

Seemant: try to figure out where this info file is coming from and zap it :)
It's probably indended for the "other" su that we don't install (included in
some other package, I forget now...)

Wow at the confusing maze. After patching sh-utils' info file, this did not go
away, until I realised that info su was also being generated by coreutils in the
textinfo file. Talk about unnecessary repetition. GNU would do well to minimise
bloat -- especially unnecessary political commentary.

Anyway, thanks for pointing this mis-information out :)
