Description Toralf Förster gentoo-dev 2005-10-16 07:15:10 UTC
As a normal user I cannot hear the music :-(

Starting the program I got:

tfoerste@n22 ~ $ pathological
sys:1: DeprecationWarning: Non-ASCII character '\xa9' in file
/usr/share/games/pathological/pathological.py on line 1851, but no encoding
declared; see http://www.python.org/peps/pep-0263.html for details
Cannot load music: music/intro.xm
Cannot load music: music/background.xm
Cannot load music: music/intro.xm

As root I have no problems. The user is in the following groups:
n22 ~ # id tfoerste
uid=1000(tfoerste) gid=100(users)
groups=100(users),10(wheel),18(audio),19(cdrom),27(video),35(games),80(cdrw),250(portage)

A sroot I got only the python warning.

chances are permissions problem ...

either your /dev nodes are misconfigured or you're already running a sound
daemon which is preventing access to the /dev nodes ...
