Rhythmbox was segfaulting on startup, so I used Bug Buddy to send a bug report
to bugzilla.gnome.org. I got the following response as a comment:

It worked ... evidently it's a Gentoo-specific problem.

known bug, I've reported it and appearantly its fixed in cvs.

solution:
leave the bugger masked until next release. then try again.

They seem to consider it a Gentoo problem ... but anyway, I've found that
RhythmBox seems too young to do what I want. Oh well.

Should be fixed in 0.4.0-r1.
