Once installed, the application asks for the rar command on a Preferences window

Let me re-phrase that. Rar isn't a compile-time dependency, but for some of it's
funcionality the app needs the user to specify the path to the rar executable,
and that won't change if rar USE flag isn't set. Maybe the USE flag should be
"unoptional", and maybe rar should always be a run-time dependency.

fixed in later revisions, 0.97.2 is no longer in portage
