Previous ebuilds do some bad things, and i would really like to see them gone 
from the tree

It seem to be unable to find jar, which should be part of your jdk, which one 
are you using?

You may have set a jre as system-vm (which it allows but complain loudly about)
# java-config -L

indeed, my chroot was f*cked up. just re-tested and it works :)
