New ati-drivers are out. ati-drivers-extra-8.18.6 also needs to be added (please use ati-drivers-extra-8.14.13-improvements.patch.bz2, because nothing has changed). The ati site also has a new anti leech script, so you need to use (if it is possible) "wget --referer=ati.com" or only use gentoo mirrors).
There are some known issues open. I'll release the ebuild at latest in the weekend.
*** Bug 109117 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
the ebuild says to use fglrxconfig, however I think the new one is aticonfig
Correct me, but following things are removed completely: aticonfig, fglrx_pplay. @Anders Storsveen, fglrxconfig can be used to create a new X-Server configuration file and aticonfig to change it (only ati specific parts).
Created attachment 70783 [details, diff] Patch to ebuild for use with X.org >= 6.8.99 I'm currently messing with gcc 4 and X.org 6.8.99, so I had to modify the ebuild a little. I hope I did this right, at least this works for me (tm).
The patch looks fine, I hope to test it soon.
8.18.8 has been released a simple copy of -r1 will suffice.
No. I dont think so. The version numbers should be equal to the original version numbers. And why must aticonfig and fglrx_pplay be removed? (that's why I didnt closed the bug)
in the .8 they will appear, let me upload the files and sync the -extra ebuild first. If I don't find problems everything will be ready this night.
8.18.8 are there and look ok for me. Can I (or Luca) close the bug?
All versions of concern have been added to the tree. Thanks Luca!
