Description Robert Wohlrab 2005-10-13 04:36:38 UTC
New ati-drivers are out. ati-drivers-extra-8.18.6 also needs to be added
(please use ati-drivers-extra-8.14.13-improvements.patch.bz2, because nothing
has changed).

The ati site also has a new anti leech script, so you need to use (if it is
possible) "wget --referer=ati.com" or only use gentoo mirrors).
Comment 1 Luca Barbato gentoo-dev 2005-10-13 04:39:48 UTC
There are some known issues open. I'll release the ebuild at latest in the weekend.

Comment 3 Anders Storsveen 2005-10-16 03:53:21 UTC
the ebuild says to use fglrxconfig, however I think the new one is aticonfig
Comment 4 Robert Wohlrab 2005-10-16 04:03:31 UTC
Correct me, but following things are removed completely: aticonfig,
fglrx_pplay.

@Anders Storsveen, fglrxconfig can be used to create a new X-Server
configuration file and aticonfig to change it (only ati specific parts).

Patch to ebuild for use with X.org >= 6.8.99

I'm currently messing with gcc 4 and X.org 6.8.99, so I had to modify the
ebuild a little. I hope I did this right, at least this works for me (tm).
Comment 6 Luca Barbato gentoo-dev 2005-10-16 05:11:37 UTC
The patch looks fine, I hope to test it soon.
Comment 7 Jory A. Pratt 2005-10-26 22:11:08 UTC
8.18.8 has been released a simple copy of -r1 will suffice.
Comment 8 Robert Wohlrab 2005-10-27 01:44:18 UTC
No. I dont think so. The version numbers should be equal to the original
version numbers.

And why must aticonfig and fglrx_pplay be removed? (that's why I didnt closed
the bug)
Comment 9 Luca Barbato gentoo-dev 2005-10-27 02:38:55 UTC
in the .8 they will appear, let me upload the files and sync the -extra ebuild
first. If I don't find problems everything will be ready this night.
Comment 10 Robert Wohlrab 2005-10-28 09:01:23 UTC
8.18.8 are there and look ok for me. Can I (or Luca) close the bug?
Comment 11 Jory A. Pratt 2005-10-28 09:43:09 UTC
All versions of concern have been added to the tree. Thanks Luca!
