using xorg-x11, nvidia-kernel 1.0.7676 and nvidia-glx 1.0.7676-r1, a QuadroFX 500, and a dell 2005fpw. Monitor's native resolution is 1680x1050. xorg driver complains that there's no such mode as 1680x1050, and drops resolution to 1400x1050 instead. Created attachment 70499 [details] xorg.conf My xorg.conf that worked with the previous driver version, but downgrades to 1400x1050 now
Created attachment 70500 [details] Xorg.0.log Xorg.0.log from starting X, discarding the 1680x1050 mode. Again, xorg.conf is unchanged from 1.0.6629
This isn't really a Gentoo bug...either you have to add a different modeline for the res you want or wait till nVidia fixes their drivers. I'll set UPSTREAM for now since it seems to be nVidia's problem. http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_1.0-6106.html seems to have some details regarding reporting bugs.
