I've tried everything I could to install OpenOffice 2.0.0 rc2 without gnome, but I can't seem to get to work. I looked at the dependencies/my use flags and I can't figure out why this is happening. == emerge -p openoffice == [ebuild N ] gnome-base/libbonobo-2.10.1 [ebuild N ] gnome-base/libgnomecanvas-2.12.0 [ebuild N ] gnome-base/gnome-mime-data-2.4.2 [ebuild N ] gnome-base/gnome-vfs-2.12.1.1 [ebuild N ] gnome-base/libgnome-2.12.0.1 [ebuild N ] gnome-base/libbonoboui-2.10.1-r1 [ebuild N ] gnome-base/gnome-keyring-0.4.5 [ebuild N ] gnome-base/libgnomeui-2.12.0 [ebuild N ] gnome-extra/evolution-data-server-1.4.1 [ebuild U ] app-office/openoffice-2.0.0_rc2 [1.1.5] [ebuild N ] x11-themes/hicolor-icon-theme-0.8 [ebuild N ] x11-themes/gnome-icon-theme-2.12.1 [ebuild N ] x11-themes/gtk-engines-2.6.5 [ebuild N ] x11-themes/gnome-themes-2.12.1 == emerge info == Portage 2.0.53_rc5 (default-linux/x86/2005.0, gcc-3.4.4, glibc-2.3.5-r2, 2.6.13-archck7.1 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.13-archck7.1 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2800+ Gentoo Base System version 1.12.0_pre8 distcc 2.18.3 i686-pc-linux-gnu (protocols 1 and 2) (default port 3632) [disabled] dev-lang/python: 2.3.5, 2.4.2 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.13 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r7 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r1 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.20 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86 ~x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -O3 -pipe -ffast-math -fomit-frame-pointer -m3dnow -msse -mmmx -ggdb" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -O3 -pipe -ffast-math -fomit-frame-pointer -m3dnow -msse -mmmx -ggdb" DISTDIR="/usr/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig ccache distlocks nostrip sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.mirrors.easynews.com/linux/gentoo/" MAKEOPTS="-j4" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/mnt/shapeshifter/portage-overlay /usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 3dnow 3dnowext 7zip X a52 aac aalib acpi aim alsa amarok audiofile avi bahamut bash-completion berkdb bitmap-fonts blender-game bzip2 c++ cairo cdda cddb cdparanoia cdr crypt css cups curl dba dbus debug dga divx4linux dts dvd eds emacs emboss encode escreen ext-png ext-zlib fam ffmpeg firefox flac foomaticdb fortran freetype ftp fuse gcj gdbm gif glibc gmail gstreamer gtk2 guile gzip hal icq imagemagick imlib java javascript jikes joystick jpeg junit kde kqemu lame libg++ libvisual libwww logitech-mouse logrotate mad mikmod mime mimencode mmap mmx mmxext motif moznocompose moznoirc moznomail mozsvg mp3 mp4live mpeg mpeg2 mpeg4 mplayer msn ncurses net network nfs nls nntp nodoc nptl nptlonly nvidia offensive ogg oggvorbis opengl oscar pam patented pcre pdflib perl pic png portaudio profile python qt quicktime readline rtc ruby scp sdl sharedmem slang speex spell sqlite sse sse2 ssl szip t1lib tcltk tcpd tetex tga theora threads tiff transcode truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts unicode usb utf8 videos vidix vorbis win32codecs x11vnc xine xinerama xml xml2 xosd xrandr xscreensaver xv xvid yahoo zip zlib userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS
You seem to have the "eds" use flag for evolution-data-server support set somewhere (which calls in other gnome-dependencies), OpenOffice.org uses this if set. Unset it and everything should be fine
