Gentoo finds the card, but when i try to get an ip from my dhcp, it doesnt work. i also tried to write an ip manually, but it didnt work either. The NIC is a CNET PRO200 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter.
Works fine here. What kernel ?
it is on the installation cd.. modprobe dmfe doesnt work..
What version of the install cd ?
it is the 1.4_rc1-r2.
1.4_rc1-r2 has ethernet support built in to the kernel, not as modules. Try http:/www.gentoo.org/dyn/experimental/livecd/ (the "20021221" or later version) and see how it works for you. Post results (good/bad) here.
there weren't ethernet modules on this livecd; closing.
housework, daniel said to close it in the last comment.
Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux". I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers, this is the only reasonable way to do this.
