http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318401 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
The referenced upstream gnome bug has been fixed through a checkin to Totem CVS. Therefore the next version of totem should have this fixed. Alternatively the patch might be applied to the current version to fix this in Gentoo? --------------------------------- Committed to CVS HEAD. If you can reproduce the crasher, and have a backtrace with debug, please file a new bug. 2005-11-24 ------------------------------
Well, you can give a try. But it seems that the support of a pmount setup is quite screwed in gnome 2.12.x. I'm thinking about something slightly more brutal... skip 2.12.x and work on 2.13.x to make sure 2.14.x will work properly on a pmount setup (actually udev needs some work too with USB storage medias with a partition table or not).
@reporter: if you are having automounting problems, please see: http://bugs.gentoo.org/107784 and http://dev.gentoo.org/~allanonjl/gnome/2.12.automounting.bugs.txt and http://dev.gentoo.org/~dang/gnome-device-plugging.txt it works just fine when you use the correct versions of the packages.
Since I downgraded to udev 072, I have no pb of automounting. But totem is not able to handle properly the "play disc" menu item anyway. In theory, everything should work in CVS head... I have a debug jhbuild gnome 2.13.2 on my system. I need to recompile all of it because I upgraded to gcc 3.4.4. Then I'll perform tests on CVS HEAD totem which is supposely fixed.
Issue gone in 20051210 CVS HEAD totem.
Is this still an issue?
This is one of the many changes that has gone into the 1.3.0 development branch. Going to mark this as later because it has been fixed upstream but not in a stable release that we will offer at this time.
